Video instructions for washing silk by hand
Hand washing is always the best and safest method for washing particularly delicate fabrics such as Silk Factory silk.
- Fill the basin with lukewarm water. The ideal temperature for hand washing silk is 30 ° C.
- Add a few drops of pH neutral liquid detergent.
- Soak the silk product and leave for three minutes.
- Immerse it up and down in the water to move the fabric through the water and wash away any dirt or debris. This movement simulates the movement of a washing machine.
- Remove from water and rinse under clean water.
- Use a clean white towel to soak up moisture from your silk products, but don’t rub.
- Hang products if possible; however, avoid direct exposure to sunlight.
- Ironing at low temperature (we recommend doing this until the bedding is completely dry).
