OEKO-TEX
OEKO-TEX is the world’s leading label for health and environmental protection when it comes to textiles. Indicates textiles that have been tested for harmful substances, and the Oeko-Tex Institute classifies such products as harmless to the end consumer. It is forbidden to use substances such as carcinogenic azo dyes, heavy metals, chemicals such as formaldehyde, pesticides, dyes that cause allergies.
The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 label does not mean that textiles are organic, but it does mean that certain toxic and allergenic chemicals are prohibited in its production. It also sets limits on the number of VOCs that can be used.
Oeko-Tex labels and certificates confirm the human and ecological safety of textile and leather products from all stages of production (raw materials, fibers, fabrics, finished products). It is a very good standard, of German origin and relatively reliable.
